In the oil and gas industry, especially gas and oil production facilities, the chemical reagent storage and injection units play a special role. Such units assure uninterruptible supply of chemical substances (antifoamers, demulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, etc.) to the production process.
The chemical reagent injection units consist of two compartments: instrument compartment (for housing electrical equipment) and process compartment (for housing process equipment assuring supply of chemical reagents to the production processes)
The following form part of process equipment of the unit:
- dosing pump (electrically driven membrane or plunger pump) designed for volumetric injection of chemical reagents continuously ;
- gear pump;
- rectangular or round cross-section internal (supply) tank .
This type of equipment is placed in an individual prefab modular building provided with all necessary utilities.
